Overview

The advent of 3G mobile technology and its inherent support for video calling has spawned a new form of telephony interactivity called IVVR.

IVVR is the next natural evolution of IVR utilising the video capability of 3G networks and handsets. By combining an IVR service with video menus and media, a myriad of content services and applications are possible. Instead of making a video call to another person, a service can be called that will present a video menu of choices and allow interactive selections of video content to be made during the call as within an IVR call.

Leveraging our proven OASIS IVR’s architectural strength and reliability, the platform has been enhanced to evolve beyond traditional voice, to deliver the OASIS Interactive Video & Voice Response System.   • Open Standards Compliant – With the advent of VoiceXML standards we have seen the rapid adoption of VoiceXML by most major telecom operators and service bureaus and today most IVR deployments use VoiceXML as the development platform of choice. The non proprietary nature of VoiceXML means that application development is no longer platform specific, but is portable to any VoiceXML compliant IVR/IVVR platform removing the restriction from proprietary and expensive solutions. OASIS IVVR is fully compliant to VoiceXML open standards (2.0 and 2.1). Services can be easily developed and deployed using standard Web based technologies and staff providing access to Speech Recognition, Text-To-Speech and DTMF to support Interactive Video & Voice Response (IVVR) applications and services.
  • Video & Voice Only Management – Utilising OASIS IVVR the provision of services is not confined to video only capable devices, traditional IVR voice services can be dynamically presented to voice only capable devices ensuring an appropriate experience for all telephone users.

  • Interoperability in both TDM & IP networks – As part of our Video Solution Suite the OASIS Video & Voice Media Server (OMS) provides a full complement of network interface modules (including ISDN, ISUP and SIP) delivering IVVR services across wireless mobile (circuit and packet switch) and fixed (TDM and IP) communication networks. 
  • Standards Based Video/Audio & Device Agnostic – Utilising standards based protocols and codecs for Video (H.263, MPEG-4 and H.264*) and Audio (AMR-NB, G.711, G.723.1, G726, G.729) including 3G-H.324M (for 3G Video), OASIS IVVR supports a wide range of video endpoints that can be integrated and used for IVVR services. Devices supported include 3G Video Handsets, SIP Web Softphones & SIP VideoPhones.
  • Live Video Streaming – Add live dynamic video broadcasts to your IVVR services via standards based RTSP streaming servers (Apple and Real Networks).
  • Media Adaptation – OASIS IVVR can be coupled with our Media Adaption add-on module providing transcoding, transrating and transizing of a wide range of video content from common video formats (QuickTime, Real, Windows Media, AVI and many others) into a highly optimised format for mobile devices ensuring a quality video experience.
  • Advanced Video* – IVVR services can utilise advanced video features to provides innovative “VCR” functionality to allow pausing, fast forward and rewinding of video at any time to give full control to the user.
  • MultiParty Conferencing*  - Support video conferencing from any supported video endpoint to provide multiparty conferencing IVVR services. Conference participants can be active or passive providing video or audio only streams.
