Multimedia (Video, Voice and Speech) network agnostic media server for IP, TDM and IN networks

Overview

As a key component of the OASIS product portfolio, the OASIS Video & Voice Media Server (OMS) provides a rich spread of open standards network interface modules including SIP, ISDN, CAS, ISUP, INAP, CAMEL and 3G-324M which allow OASIS solutions to readily integrate in all network environments (IP, TDM and IN). Making the platform a truly network-agnostic, telco grade IP and TDM Media Server

The OMS also supports media adaptation with video transcoding, frame rate adjustment / transrating, image rescaling, I-frame updates to deliver real-time and smooth video display.

By providing a variety of media resources including Video, Voice, Conference, Fax, Speech, Text-to-Speech and DTMF, OMS is capable of delivering real-time, video telephony, Interactive Video & Voice Response (IVVR), Interactive Voice Response (IVR) speech deployments and customized IN based solutions.

Deployed globally, OMS supports a wealth of services including the following listed below,

  • Telephony - Video & Voice Telephony, Video Conference*, Voice Conference and Fax
  • Interactive Video & Voice Response (IVVR) – Video Call Center, Mobile TV, Video & Voice Mail, Video Messaging, Multiparty Video Conferencing*, Video Surveillance, Video Gaming* and Video Blogging
  • Speech (VoiceXML) – Carrier Grade Self Service, Banking, Call Center, Home Catalogs, Directory Listing
  • IVR - Prepaid Mobile, International Calling Card, Call Center, Auto Mass Calling, Televoting and Payment Gateways
  • Mobile Virtual Network Enabler (MVNE) for Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO)
  • Legal Call Interception
  • Voice (VMS) and Video messaging (VVMS)

Benefits

  • Load Balancing – Based on an efficient load balancing design that optimises the use of network and media resources, OMS can scale to handle avalanche call scenarios and the ability to support many thousands of mass calling ports within a single virtual IVR configuration.
  • Multi-Tenancy – By defining the network and media resource capacities and concurrent call limits on a per ASP configuration, the system administrator can easily leverage on the platform multi-tenancy features to manage service deployment across multiple media server and application server groups.
  • High Availability, Reliability and Scalability – OASIS’ distributed modular architecture supports clustered deployments and provides seamless fail-over capabilities and high levels of availability with no single point of failure. In addition, customised service applications can be deployed and provisioned on a live OMS with no disruption to services. Via it’s inherent design OMS supports rapid ramp-up deployment needs.
  • Diverse Services Deployment– Besides forming an essential core layer of the OASIS product family, the IMS compliant OMS is deployed globally to support a wealth of services.

Features

  • High Port Density / Small Foot Print – OASIS Video & Voice Media Server (OMS) is designed to cater for high port densities with a small footprint via a number of different models. The 4 RU (Rack Unit) server supports up to 64 E1 or 1920 ports of media and switching resources, while the 2 RU server supports 500+ ports of IVR and speech applications or 120 ports of Voice, Speech and advanced Video services.
  • Seamless Network Interoperability - Equipped with a comprehensive suite of open standards based signaling protocols (SIP, ISDN, ISUP, CAS, CAMEL and 3G Video), the network agnostic OMS integrates seamlessly into client’s networks and shortens the integration lead-time with other 3rd party systems.
  • Rich Spread of Media Resources - OMS offers a wide range of media resources that include Video, Voice, Conferencing, Fax, Speech Recognition, Text-To-Speech and DTMF in order to support Video & Voice telephony and a whole wealth of value added services.
  • Media Adaptation – Based on the end-device display capabilities, OMS carries out the media adaptation on the source, including video transcoding, frame rate adjustment / transrating, image rescaling, I-frame updates and constant frame-rate refreshing before streaming it down to different types of video enabled devices, providing users with an optimised visual experience
  • Service Provisioning and Platform Management – Via OASIS Manager system administrators can effectively manage key operations such as service provisioning, network and media resources availability, multi-tenancy and alarm management.
Dynamic snapshots of the platform’s network and media resources status are also available for monitoring in real-time, the platform’s resource conditions and service usage. With a set of alarm management features, administrators are provided with quick access to a comprehensive list of up-to-date alarm triggers and status conditions.
