Telecom Regulators Worldwide Demand ETSI Standards-Based Lawful Call Interception, and We Provide It.
Lawful interception is crucial in fighting crime. In every country, there’s national legislation that requires any large telecommunication provider to provide lawful interception capabilities to law enforcement agencies (LEA). That means any time an authorized request is created, a telecom provider must identify, monitor, and deliver all the electronic communication content of a specified groups or individuals.
There are national authorities who work alongside international standardised bodies, and together they define the technical framework for making lawful interceptions.
OASIS introduces the latest version of their Lawful Intercept Solution (OLIS). It’s fully compliant to ETSI international standards (ETSI ES 201 671 V2.1.1).
Our OLIS platform utilises the OASIS advanced technologies to support passive call monitoring across all network environments and capability. Support for E1, STM-1 interfaces and OASIS SS7 passive monitoring allows seamless monitoring of many thousands of calls simultaneously. OLIS also supports VoIP monitoring on 1GB and 10GB* interfaces.
With a call interception warrant in place, OLIS allows law enforcement agencies to execute real-time, confidential monitoring of voice and video calls on the TDM & IP networks.
Multiple law enforcement agencies can be monitoring the same call without being aware of each other’s presence or behaviour. The platform makes sure all agencies are treated equally, with the same set of features and functionality – safeguarding the integrity of monitoring standards.
OLIS delivers an extremely flexible, cost effective, secure and scalable solution to address the obligatory support of call interception by all service providers.

Fully Open and Standards Compliant – Designed and built to fully comply with ETSI international standards (ETSI ES 201 671 V2.1.1), OASIS Lawful Intercept Solution (OLIS) provides sophisticated and secured lawful call interception capabilities – that lets designated agents (armed with a warrant) effectively monitor intercepted calls.
High Simultaneous Call Interception Capacity – Built on a robust architecture that is highly scalable and reliable, OLIS provides a small footprint platform – as little as 8 E1 interfaces through to 4 STM-1 interfaces in 4 rack units. For VoIP interception, OLIS supports 1GB and 10GB* interfaces capable of monitoring 8,000 to 80,000 simultaneous calls in a single 2U chassis.
Confidential Call Interception – OLIS ensures all intercepted and channelled calls are completely confidential and undetectable. Every agency that simultaneously monitors the same call is totally unaware of each other’s presence or behaviour. SIP & STM-1 monitoring is completely passive – this means that even in the event of a total hardware failure, phone calls will never be effected.
Advanced and Web-Accessible Modules – OASIS Lawful Intercept Solution is equipped with advanced and Web-accessible modules. These include:
- Monitoring Agency Management,
- Authorised Interception Management,
- User Management,
- LCI Audit Reports,
- and System Configurations.
Via the intuitive GUI, these modules enable network carriers to effectively manage their daily call intercept operations.
Agencies Connectivity Restoration – In the event of any connectivity failure between the OLIS and monitoring agencies due to carrier network outages, the OLIS will automatically trigger a set of disaster-proof handling algorithms that make continuous attempts to re-connect with the monitoring agencies, while retaining the Intercept Related Information (IRI) for all ongoing intercepted calls in its buffer. Once the connection is re-established, the platform will instantly arrange for IRI transmission to the respective monitoring agencies.
Secured Transmission via IP Sec – By supporting network security using IP Sec, the OLIS can safely transmit the Intercepted Related Information (IRI) through the carrier’s IP network to the designated authorized agency. The IRI includes Intercepted Subject, Service Associated Data (SAD) and Line Location Info. The platform also maintains a detailed transmission log to facilitate LCI tracking.
